Pre-Registration Pharmacist Training Programme 2020-21
The Buttercups Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacist Programme is a comprehensive course to prepare trainees for the registration assessment and life as a newly registered pharmacist. Building on the success of our 'blended learning' programme, this year we offer 7 study days with a dedicated Buttercups tutor, a series of large and small group webinar tutorials and a vast range of e-learning training programmes via our b-Hive online learning platform. Trainees are also given access to our accredited Medicines Counter Assistant (MCA) and RSPH Level 2 Understanding Health Improvement (Health Champion) courses.

The programme is mapped to the GPhC pre-registration pharmacist performance standards. This may be of use to employers when providing the GPhC with your training plan during the approval process for pre-registration training premises. If you would like to request a copy of the mapping document please contact Buttercups Training on preregtraining@buttercups.co.uk.
Tutor Training
We offer a complimentary online Tutor Training Webinars which will support both new tutors and more experienced ones. Tutors can participate live and/or review the recording after the sessions.
For those who feel they would benefit from a face-to-face tutor training session and the opportunity to network with other tutors, we offer a regional Tutor Training Workshop for an additional fee of £60+VAT.
Programme Leaders
Each learner is given an experienced and dedicated Buttercups programme tutor to facilitate their learning. They are available throughout the year for information and guidance and their role is one of a coach, a mentor and an assessor. The tutors will be sent a formal report on each trainee’s progress once the programmes are underway, usually between the 26-39 week period.
