Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician Programme
Please note, the latest date for receipt of enrolment forms by Buttercups to guarantee enrolment on the old standards is 27th August, after which our newly accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Programme will be released.
The Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician Programme allows learners, with relevant experience, to register as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council. This programme prepares the learner to be able to deal with routine queries and hold professional discussions with the pharmacist regarding more complex issues. The Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician Programme consists of the Level 3 Technical Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science and the Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills (NVQ) (QCF) (formerly NVQ 3 Pharmacy Services Evidence Collection). To be eligible, the learner must be employed as a pre-registration pharmacy technician working for a minimum 14 hours/week, with regular access to work in the dispensary for the two year duration of the course, under the supervision, direction or guidance of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician to whom they are directly accountable. We cannot accept applications from self-funded learners; the employer is required to support and fund this programme.
