Buttercups Matrix Re-Accreditation

“The matrix standard is a unique quality standard for organisations to assess and measure their advice and support services, which ultimately supports individuals in their choice of career, learning, work and life goals” – Buttercups has been matrix accredited for a number of years now, but a recent re-accreditation has provided a great opportunity to consider how important our advice and support services are.

The report has highlighted that we are a ‘strong guardian of the sector working with professional integrity and objectivity in the delivery of qualifications and CPD’ along with praising the free resources we produce around safeguarding, British Values, Prevent and EDI. Our learner and employer support was commended, from our review calls through to wider industry updates.

We are very proud of the relationships we have with learners and employers – our friends – many of which are strong after 30 years. It was pleasing to discuss this during re-accreditation, ‘relationships with stakeholders across the sector that is being used successfully to facilitate contribution and enhance qualifications and service delivery. Positive examples were provided that included facilitation of the new pharmacy services apprenticeship standards, understanding the range of needs of employers to shape individual delivery, and supporting the work of General Pharmaceutical Council in their work as the sector regulator’.

Another major strength and continued area of excellence that was identified are our online systems, ‘providing increased capability to connect staff and learners through blended learning, and investment in new staff roles and capabilities are strengthening their IAG offer to learners’.

Finally, the report recognised that our initial advice and guidance to learners strongly aligns with the outcomes for our programme, helping learners to qualify and meet their career ambitions.
