Meet all my programme targets for the first six months of the programme by following the training plan and allocating set time each month to review my progress against this plan.
Achieve a pass grade on my functional skills course(s) within the first 6 months of the programme.
Understand my responsibility regarding safeguarding in the workplace and ensure I understand the local guidance for reporting any concerns within X weeks.
Locate and read the workplace policies on health and safety, data protection, confidentiality and whistleblowing within the next x weeks.
Complete my organisation’s mandatory training on X within the next 3 months.
Complete the e-learning safeguarding course within the next 2 months
Pharmacy Related Objectives
Learn about the different roles and responsibilities within pharmacy in the next 3 months. Write a list of the different job roles within the pharmacy department. Speak a team member from each role and write down their main responsibilities.
Locate and read the workplace SOPs on health and safety and link in the legislation that applies to these SOPs to help retain the knowledge within the next two months.
Collate the errors at the end of a month, look for patterns and implement ways of reducing the errors. Be able to do this task independently within the next six months.
Read and understand the workplace SOPs on waste disposal and returned medicines within the next month.
Read and understand the spillage procedure, so that I am clear on what I would need to do in the event of a spillage at work within the next month.
Complete manual handling training within the workplace within the next 4 months.
Write a list of tasks that must not be completed in the absence of the responsible pharmacist within the next 2 months.
(This objective is specific to those undertaking a pre-registration pharmacy technician role) Familiarise myself with the GPhC professional standards. Document areas of the standards which I am currently maintaining, along with areas of the standards where I need to develop. Complete this within the next 6 months.
(This objective is specific to those undertaking a pre-registration pharmacy technician role in a hospital) In the next 6 months complete the making of medicine module and be able to identify what medicines are made locally within the hospital aseptic unit and why they are made there.
Personal Developmental Objectives Examples
- Increase/maintain my current level of physical activity by walking 10,000 steps X days a week. I will monitor this through my phone/fitness watch/pedometer.
- Eat a minimum of X servings of fruits and vegetables daily within the next 3 months. I will accomplish this by planning my meals ahead of time on a weekly basis, going shopping once a week, and eating one to two servings per meal.
- Save £X a week by preparing lunches for work rather than buying lunch at work X days a week.
- Follow the NHS Stop Smoking Service advice to stop smoking within the next 3 months.
- Wean down my nicotine intake from vape juice from X mg to X mg within 6 months.
- Reduce my weekly alcohol intake from X units down to X units over the next 3 months.
- Save x% of my pay cheque each month for the next 6 months into a savings account.
- Reduce my phone screen time from a current level of X hours a week to X hours a week within the next 3 months.
- Read X books every month for the next six months.
- Plan time to socialise with family and friends at least X times a month throughout the next 6 months.
- Start/maintain my regular commitment to volunteering at X, X times a month for the next 6 months.
- Improve mindfulness by meditating for X minutes each morning.
- Improve my organisation skills by creating a weekly schedule to plan weekly activities and chores every Sunday and marking the activities as complete throughout the week.
- Meet or find out about one new colleague each month over the first six months, to build up a network of peers to support me during my programme.
