Foundation in
Science for Pharmacy Technicians (Level 2)
Be fully prepared for the Pharmacy Technician Training Programme with our foundation courses in science.
Course overview
Our foundation courses include comprehensive teaching materials with guided examples and self-assessment activities to improve and cement your knowledge so you can enrol on the Pharmacy Technician Training Programme with confidence. On completion of each course, you will be assessed via a test and awarded a certificate from Buttercups Training.
This course is designed to prepare candidates for enrolment onto the Pharmacy Technician Training Programme by refreshing their knowledge in science, in line with the programme requirements. As such, this course is not an accredited Level 2 qualification.
For apprenticeship enrolments, foundation courses cannot be used to exempt a candidate from English and/or maths Functional Skills. Evidence of a fully-accredited qualification at Level 2 or above (such as a GCSE grade C or level 4) will still be required to be considered for exemption purposes. Functional Skills courses in maths and English are also available from £350 (exc VAT) – please contact us for further information.
Who is the course for?
This course is designed for individuals who want to improve their knowledge in science before enrolling on the Pharmacy Technician Training Programme.
How the course is delivered
The course is delivered online via our state-of-the-art b-Hive learning system.
Level 2 Foundation in Science for Pharmacy Technicians
The science foundation course is broken down into 13 modules. Modules 1-7 contain Level 2 chemistry content and modules 8-13 contain Level 2 biology content. Throughout the course there are several self-assessment activities which must be completed before you will be able to access the final assessment.
The final assessment is drawn only from the content in the course and is divided into biology and chemistry sections, both of which must be passed to pass overall.
